Korea condemns Mali hotel attack

Nov. 23, 2015 - 16:50 By KH디지털2

The Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned a terrorist attack that took place last week at a hotel in Mali, vowing to join global efforts to eradicate terrorism.

Armed assailants attacked a luxury hotel in the west African country's capital of Bamako on Friday, killing 19 people in a hostage crisis, a week after a series of terrorist attacks in Paris.

The ministry said the South Korean government cannot hide its shock and anger over the attack in Mali, expressing condolences to victims of the assault and their surviving families.

"The government plans to join global efforts to eradicate terrorism on the principle that all kinds of terrorist attacks cannot be justified for any reason," ministry spokesman Cho June-hyuck said in a statement. (Yonhap)
