Nov. 23, 2015 - 15:07 By KH디지털2

South Korea's top automaker Hyundai Motor Co. said Monday that it started to receive preorders for the latest edition of its flagship model to be officially launched next month.

The automaker will receive preorders for the EQ900, the first model to be launched under Hyundai Motor's new premium brand "Genesis," until Dec. 9, the company said in a press release.

Its domestic launch is expected to start in time for the end of the preorder period, and the luxury sedan will be unveiled overseas as the G90.

Along with the preorder schedule, Hyundai Motor unveiled rendered inside images of the EQ900. During a media preview held weeks ago, it disclosed such details as the overall exterior design and power trains.

The price range for the EQ900 has yet to be disclosed. Hyundai Motor said that the cost will be revealed on its official launch date with some market watchers predicting a slight hike from the previous Equus model, which ranged from 68 million won ($58,900) to 110 million won.

Earlier this month, Hyundai Motor launched Genesis as an independent global brand, throwing down the gauntlet to other premium brands, including the 7-series of BMW, the S-class of Mercedes-Benz and Lexus of Toyota. (Yonhap)
