South Korean rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon-jae failed to win a medal in ribbon and clubs at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Germany on Thursday.
Son finished fifth in ribbon with 18.083 points, 0.183 point worse than her score in the qualification round.
Yana Kudryavtseva of Russia won the ribbon title with 18.866 points, followed by fellow Russian Margarita Mamun with 18.850 points. Ganna Rizatdinova of Ukraine was third with 18.383 points.
In the clubs, Son dropped her apparatus en route to eighth place at 17.183 points, 0.750 point worse than her qualification score.
Kudryavtseva also won the clubs title with 19.066 points.
Aleksandra Soldatova of Russia won the silver with 18.583 points, and Rizatdinova got the bronze with 18.566 points.
Son has qualified for the individual all-around final with 54.465 points, a total of her three best scores from the qualification rounds for four apparatuses.
Son ranked fifth among 24 qualifiers, with Kudryavtseva, Mamun, Soldatova and Rizatdinova leading the way.
The top 15 in the all-around final will qualify for the Summer Olympics next year in Rio de Janeiro. (Yonhap)
