South Korea’s leading chipmaker SK hynix beefed up partnerships with Chinese customers during its 2015 SK hynix Mobile Solution Day event in Shenzhen on Wednesday.
Around 300 officials from partner firms in China, including Huawei, Lenovo, and China Mobile, partook in the event themed “Creating the future mobile experience together.”
The Korean chipmaker introduced its business strategies to cement its position as a leading player in the Chinese market.
In line with the efforts to increase its presence in the local market, SK hynix pledged to produce a range of mobile chips to meet the various demands of customers.

They include the Low Power Double Data Rate 4 (LPDDR4) DRAM, the 3D NAND flash memory featuring 36 layers of cells, and the Universal Flash Storage.
In their respective keynote speeches, top officials from China Mobile, Qualcomm and MediaTek also emphasized the importance of cooperation with SK hynix in the rising 4G mobile network communications technology in China.
“China drives the growth of the global mobile industry with the world’s largest domestic market and mobile upstarts,” said Richard Chin, executive vice president of SK hynix’s marketing division.
“SK hynix will beef up its partnerships with customers to achieve technological advances and grow together,” he added.
The Korean chip producer grabbed a 22.9 percent market share in the world’s DRAM market last year, according to research institute DRAMeXchange. The figure is the second largest after that of its compatriot Samsung Electronics at 52.1 percent.
