June 8, 2015 - 11:09 By KH디지털2

South Korea's No. 2 tech giant LG Electronics Inc. said Monday it has released a new handset in Japan with a design inspired by popular animations produced by The Walt Disney Company.

The DM-01G smartphone, sold by Japan-based mobile carrier NTT Docomo Inc., is the eighth model of the Disney Mobile on Docomo lineup.

The Android smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display and runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Processor. It also has a 13.2-megapixel rear camera and a 2.4-megapixel front one, along with a 2,920 mAh detachable battery.

LG said the handset is unique as it comes with platforms inspired by popular Disney animations including "Frozen," "Cinderella" and "Alice in Wonderland." Users will also receive a Swarovski crystal smartphone cover that depicts Mickey Mouse, the flagship Disney character.

The smartphone keeps several key features of LG smartphones, including "Gesture Shot," which allows users to take photos by curling one's fingers into their palm while facing the camera.

The company said the DM-01G will come in blue, white and pink in order to attract female customers in Japan. The launch schedule for other countries has not been released. (Yonhap)
