POSCO launches executives’ panel to drive reform

May 14, 2015 - 19:00 By Korea Herald
POSCO, the country’s largest steelmaker, on Thursday launched a reform committee as it struggles to reform its image and business structure.

The committee is headed by POSCO CEO Kwon Oh-joon, and its members include all in-house directors, and the chiefs of POSCO’s five largest subsidiaries including Daewoo International, POSCO Engineering and Construction, and POSCO Energy.

Under the committee, five subcommittees will oversee changes in the areas of restructuring, responsible management, human resource management, operating practices and ethics.

Measures drawn up by the committee will be submitted to the board of directors, and implemented to bring about changes across POSCO companies, the steelmaker said.

The launch of the committee comes two weeks after the submission of outside directors’ suggestions for overcoming the company’s business difficulties.
