May 10, 2015 - 20:43 By Korea Herald
The total amount of land in South Korea reached 100,284 square kilometers as of the end of last year, an increase of 18 square kilometers from a year earlier, data showed Friday.

According to an annual report on cadastral statistics released by the Land Ministry, the nation’s land size has increased, mainly thanks to land reclamation.

Last year’s increase amounts to an area about six times the size of Seoul’s financial district of Yeouido, ministry officials said.

The nation has reclaimed land to secure plots for industrial complexes across the nation.
