Peugeot cuts compact SUV prices

March 2, 2015 - 20:17 By Korea Herald
Peugeot is seeking to dominate Korea’s compact sport utility vehicle market with reinforced lineups and a discounted price for its signature New Peugeot 2008 models.

Hanbul Motors, the official importer of the French carmaker, on Monday said it will readjust the price of its New Peugeot 2008 Feline L model to 30.9 million won ($29,000) from the previous 31.5 million won, inclusive of taxes.

Also as part of the beef-up measures, the previous Feline, Allure and Active trims have been renamed as Feline L, Feline S, and Active, respectively. The most luxurious Feline L comes with an additional 400,000 won-rear camera and a sports aluminum pedal.

From March, those who purchase Feline L will be able to receive an indoor sterilizer. A special monthly-installment program aligned with Lotte Capital will also be introduced.

“The decision came as 90 percent of the Peugeot 2008 consumers purchase the Feline trims. The New Peugeot 2008, which is the only foreign compact SUV with a diesel engine here, is the most popular model with 236 units sold in the single month of January. Such measures will provide us an opportunity to dominate the growing compact SUV market,” said Song Seung-chul, president of Hanbul Motors.
