Seoul City to support cultural events

Feb. 11, 2015 - 18:48 By Korea Herald
The Seoul Metropolitan Government is taking applications from expat communities for financial support for cultural events in the city.

The support is available for any cultural event hosted by an embassy, association or private organization for the foreign community.

The city will fund up to 80 percent of the total cost of the chosen events, with a limit of 7 million won ($6,380).

Funding is restricted to one event per country, and funding is given retrospectively.

The city chooses a range of cultural events to support each year. Last year, the program supported 20 events including a St. Patrick’s Day festival, a Kenyan culture day and a festival for Vietnamese-Korean families.

Application forms can be downloaded from www.seoul.go.kr or global.seoul.go.kr, and the deadline for submissions is Monday.

Contact happygoods@seoul.go.kr or (02) 2133-5076 for more information.
