Wine-pairing meal at Park Hyatt Seoul
Park Hyatt Seoul will present a six-course Italian meal paired with Napa Valley Duckhorn wine on Jan. 24. The dinner will be prepared by three Italian chefs from Park Hyatt Seoul and other Hyatt-brand hotels. The set menu will start with Tongyang oyster seasoned with basil oil and Decoy Sonoma County Chardonnay (2012), and will continue with panzanella (a Tuscan salad of bread and tomatoes with olive oil) with big-eyed tuna carpaccio that will be served with Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc (2013). For the main dish, braised New Zealand lamb shank with saffron fregola sarda (a type of pasta from Sardinia, rolled into small balls) will be matched with Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Merlot (2012). U.S. wine dinner at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul
JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul will hold a dinner featuring U.S. wines selected by the hotel’s chief sommelier Jeong Ha-bong at BLT Steak on Jan. 22. Jeong will present wines from Inglenook, well-known for its winery owned by legendary filmmaker Francis Coppola. The selection includes sparkling wine Sophia Blanc de Blanc, Diamond Gold Label Chardonnay and Diamond Silver Label Pinot Noir. The five-course dinner will feature American dry-aged striploin steak as the main dish. The dinner, priced at 150,000 won per person, starts at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 22. Saw-edged perch promotion at Lotte Hotel Seoul
Lotte Hotel Seoul’s Korean restaurant Mugunghwa will be inviting chef Kang Chang-geon, master of the patented saw-edged perch cutting technique, for its “Bountiful New Year Promotion.” From Jan. 20 to 22, the fish will be freshly delivered to the table and prepared for various dishes, including seasoned saw-edged perch with coriander, milk porridge with saw-edged perch and saw-edged perch soup. The prices are 110,000 won for the lunch course and 150,000 won for dinner. The gala dinner on Jan. 22 is priced at 300,000 won.
