SK C&C, South Korea’s third-largest IT systems developer, said Thursday that it would officially launch a division providing big data analytic and solution services to clients next year.
It set up a task force of some 60 experts early this year to look into the feasibility of big data technology and to develop business models that would best service its customers.
It boosted the number of experts on the team to 100, which include data scientists, statisticians, IT systems developers and IT architects, and will become one of the company’s core units.
The big data division has developed services enabling its customers to detect unusual manufacture processing in advance, analyze production yields and quality and recommend products according to consumer needs.
It will also allow businesses to engage consumers through customized marketing and maintain stronger security protection measures, the company said.
SK C&C will not only offer technology solutions but also consulting to become a comprehensive big data service provider.
“Next year, the industry will usher in the Big Data 2.0 era with advanced analytic solutions integrated with information and communication technology that will offer further insights to the way we can innovate and do business,” said a SK C&C official.
