Asiana Airlines, the nation’s second largest carrier, said Wednesday that it held a kimchi-making and other Korean traditional culture events at the Korea House located in Jung-gu, central Seoul.

The event was organized in a bid to enhance the amicable relations with Japan and to promote cultural exchanges between both countries, the carrier said.

More than 100 Japanese visitors participated in the event, learning how to make and ferment kimchi from the chefs of the Korea House. Korean traditional performances such as the fan dance were also showcased.

“We have prepared various cultural activities that reflected Japanese interest in Korea as well as the trends,” a director of the carrier’s passenger service division Ryu Gwang-hee said.

“We will continue to hold a number of events to promote the countries’ cultural exchanges.”
