Nov. 3, 2014 - 20:46 By Korea Herald
South Korea’s Hyundai Motor on Monday launched a refreshed version of its very popular Avante compact for the home market that offers amenities and safety features that best meet the latest consumer demands.

The car model, sold as the Elantra in markets like the United States, is the first locally made car to have sold more than 10 million vehicles globally, with the changes to further improve its value proposition.

The Avante 2015, which has no changes to its exterior, comes standard with a tire pressure monitoring system, dynamic driving controls and hill-start assist function.

For the mainstream trim, Hyundai has included leather for the car seats, forward parking sensors, sliding arm rests and ski-through back seats.

It has even released a “10 Million Limited” edition that comes with a 4.2-inch LCD supervision cluster display and ventilated front seats.

South Korea’s No. 1 carmaker said that while many features have been added, the prices go up by only 150,000 won ($140) for the base and “Smart” trim cars, while rising just 200,000 won for the main “Modern” trim vehicle.

The starting price for the 1.6-liter gasoline model has been set at 15.6 million won and rises to 20.4 million won for the fully loaded 2.0L gasoline engine Avante Coupe with automatic transmission. (Yonhap)
