Seo Taiji reveals mysterious cover image of upcoming album

Oct. 8, 2014 - 19:07 By 옥현주
Legendary K-pop idol Seo Taiji unveiled the cover image of his upcoming album “Quiet Night” on Wednesday.

The album’s cover, designed by artist Kim Dae-hong, features a hand-drawn girl with short hair and wearing a white dress. The straight-faced girl stares ahead with a purple-colored night sky filled with stars in the background, creating mysterious effect.

“It is an art work that metaphorically expresses symbols that contradict with a pure girl. We reflected the theme of the entire album through the girl, who is both curious and afraid about the world,” explained Seo’s agency Seo Taiji Co.

Seo is slated to release his ninth full album, “Quiet Night,” and its music video on Oct. 10, his first in five years.

To mark his official return to the stage, Seo will also hold a Christmas-Halloween hybrid concert on Oct. 18 at Olympic Stadium at Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul.

Seo debuted in 1992 as a member of the K-pop boy band Seo Taiji and Boys, and took the lead in shaping K-pop culture in the 1990s, gaining recognition as the most influential cultural icon in South Korea.

Since the megahit group was disbanded in 1998, Seo has pursued solo activities as a rock musician.
