Pro football body launches English-language website

Sept. 3, 2014 - 17:39 By 정주원
The K League, the national governing body of professional football, launched an English-language website Wednesday, hoping that the move will help it better communicate with its growing international fan base.

The website at www.kleague.com/eng contains information on the first-division K League Classic and the second-tier K League Challenge. The site features fixtures and results, match reports, statistics, league tables, video highlights and overviews of each club in both circuits.

The page also provides a link to the official homepage of the Asian Football Confederation Champions League, the top annual club competition in Asia involving K League Classic squads.

The league office noted that the English-language website also offers directions to 22 football stadiums in the two leagues to help non-Korean-speaking fans to find their way to their seats.

The league said it also plans to offer English-language services in social media to reach out to its international supporters. (Yonhap)
