Chinese actress Tang Wei and Korean film director Kim Tae-yong secretly tied the knot in Sweden about two weeks ago, Kim’s agency said Friday.
The couple had a wedding on July 12 in the front yard of the birthplace of legendary filmmaker Ingmar Bergman on the Swedish island of Faro, Kim’s agency Bom Production said.
According to the agency, the two took a trip to the island to commemorate Bergman and decided to have a simple wedding on the spot in his honor, with the Ingmar Bergman Film Festival’s executive director couple as witnesses.
The official wedding, attended only by family, will be held in August as scheduled, the agency said. The exact date and place will not be disclosed.
Tang, 35, who rose to international fame through Ang Lee’s 2007 film “Lust, Caution,” met Kim, 45, when she starred in his 2009 film “Late Autumn.”
After the film, they maintained a good friendship and began dating last October when Tang visited Korea for a commercial shoot. The couple announced their engagement on July 2.
