July 23, 2014 - 10:31 By Korea Herald
Fans of JYJ member Jaejoong have donated a forest named after him in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the singer’s debut.

A social venture group Tree Planet has been running the Star Forest Project, which collects donations from fans to make the Jaejoong Forest.

The donation has been made by Jaejoong’s fan club Hero Wings. Fans not only from Korea but also overseas participated in the donation, raising 6.4 million won ($6,250).

The forest is aimed to beautify the city and reduce noise pollution. It is also to serve as a relaxing place for the public.

“We are happy to be a part of something meaningful. We will always support Jaejoong like these green and fresh trees,” fans who participated in the project were quoted as saying.

Jaejoong is currently acting in the MBC drama “Triangle.”
