YG Entertainment will debut Winner, a new five-member hip-hop boy band, on Aug. 1.

This will be the first time in eight years that YG has debuted a male idol group.

The agency has completed a three-week promotional campaign for the group that began on June 16.

In the three weeks, dubbed “Test Week,” “New York Week” and “Winner Week,” it released new individual and group teasers every day. “Winner Week” featured a total of six movie clip teasers, with the last one released Sunday.

The band was formed last year based on the results of the survival TV show “YG’s Win: Who is Next?” which aired from August to October 2013. A team of winners from the show was given the opportunity to debut under the name Winner.

They made appearances in a follow-up program to prepare for the debut, with 10 episodes that began airing in December. The agency has attracted many fans through active promotions and campaigns.

The five members are Kang Seung-yoon, Song Min-ho, Nam Tae-hyun, Kim Jin-woo and Lee Seung-hoon.
