Actress Sung Yu-ri’s agency on Monday claimed that rumors about an engagement between the actress and her golfer boyfriend were “groundless,” saying their six-month relationship was “too short (for them) to consider marriage.”

The agency’s denial came shortly after Star News, a local sports tabloid, exclusively reported that their marriage is imminent, alleging that the golfer told his friends that he has “a woman to marry.”

“The two have been going out for only six months,” a spokesperson of Sung’s agency Fantasio Co. told local reporters. “It is too early to consider marriage, and above all, it has been only days since they made their relationship public.”

Sung, 33, came under the spotlight when local dailies reported her romantic relationship with a professional golfer and coach of the same age, Ahn Sung-hyun, on June 17. The agency confirmed their relationship later in the day.

The singer-turned-actress was a member of Fin.K.L., a first-generation girl group that released its debut EP in 1998. Singers Lee Hyo-ri, Ock Joo-hyun and Lee Jin were the other members of the group.
