Chun-ji, a member of Teen Top, will debut as a musical actor.

“Chun-ji, who debuted as a charming vocalist of Teen Top in 2010, has been cast in the musical "Caffeine," his agency announced on Tuesday.

“Caffeine” premiered in 2008, and has been loved by many musical fans in Korea and Japan. The story is based on wine and coffee, and only two actors, a woman and a man, perform in the musical, causing fans to anticipate Chun-ji’s focused acting and singing.

Chun-ji is to play Kang Ji-min, a confident playboy who prepares to study abroad by day and works as a sommelier by night.

Other actors who have played the role of Kang are Jo Sung-mo, Hyun-woo, Lee Chang-min of 2AM, Kim Hyung-jun, Seo Ha-jun, and Kim Ki-bum.

“As a singer who performs on stage, I was interested in the genre of musical. I am happy to perform in ‘Caffeine’ and hopefully I will learn a lot from preparing for the performance with other actors. I will work hard for the fans to show a good performance,” Chun-ji was quoted as saying.

The musical “Caffeine” will be performed in Seoul KT&G Sangsang Art Hall from June 27 to Sept. 7.
