One of the nation’s most eclectic rock bands, Jambinai, will soon be spreading its crossover music to 14 countries including the U.S. and the U.K. in the band’s upcoming world tour, according to a statement released by Sony Music Korea.

Jambinai is slated to perform around 25 shows, including a number of music festivals, across the world such as Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, the Exit festival in Serbia and the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in the States. The band will be on tour for more than two months from May 27-July 29.

The avant-garde band is well known for its fusion of traditional Korean music with the contemporary sounds of rock, punk, metal and even jazz. They use traditional instruments like the haegeum, the piri and the geomungo as well as electric guitars and electronic sound effects.

Despite having only two releases to their credit, the members of Jambinai have already managed to make a name for themselves as one of the country’s most unique bands. After debuting with its eponymous EP in 2010, the band later went on to win the EBS Rookie of the Year Award in 2011. In 2012 Jambinai released its first studio album “Difference” and landed Best Crossover Album of the Year at the 2013 Korean Music Awards.

This past March the band also joined popular Korean rock acts No Brain, YB Band, Galaxy Express, Crying Nut, Nell and others at the 2014 annual South By Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.

Jambinai is scheduled to release its second full studio album sometime in March of next year.
