Korean girl group Sistar’s Soyou said her presence within the team hierarchy surpassed superstar Bora, thanks to the recent success of her recent duet track “Some” with Jung GiGo.

Soyou’s comment came during MBC’s variety show “Radio Star” on April 30, when show host Kim Gura began praising Soyou, 22, for her recent success in the K-pop scene.

When another “Radio Star” MC, Kim Guk-jin, asked her if she feels more self-confident these days, she said, “I don’t feel so self-confident but I feel like I am beyond Bora at the moment,” she jovially said, driving all show participants to burst into laughter en masse.

Bora, too, has recently increased her influence in her agency, Starship Entertainment, by acting in SBS TV show “Doctor Stranger,” starring K-pop world star Lee Jong-suk and Park Hae-jin.

While Soyou acknowledged her recent empowerment, she emphasized that her team members are not at all wary of her solo jackpot.

“Some” topped the Korean music chart for the longest period, raising the popularity of Soyou, who had relatively less fandom than her fellow members, especially Hyorin.
