Bibigo introduces ‘Chimaek’ in China

March 11, 2014 - 20:26 By Korea Herald
CJ Foodville released the “chimaek set from Gangnam,” at its Bibigo restaurants in China last week.

Chimaek, a term coined from combining fried “chicken” and “maekju” (beer), is served with cubes of radish marinated in vinegar. The set was first introduced at the Bibigo London branch but gained popularity after the dish was introduced as a nighttime snack on hit TV drama, “My Love from the Stars.”

CJ has already introduced a number of popular Korean snacks in overseas branches including tteokbokki, red pepper-seasoned rice cake, in Singapore; patbingsu, shredded ice served with reduced red beans; and instant noodles cooked in a nickel pot.
