Gwangju Freecycle to run clothing swap Saturday

March 11, 2014 - 20:42 By Korea Herald
Gwangju Freecycle will run its first clothing swap Saturday for local residents to donate and pick up used clothing.

People are asked to donate clean, gently used clothing and shoes to the new GIC building by Friday. Books, DVDs, art, kitchen items and accessories are also welcome.

The event is free, and there is no strict limit on how many items one can take.

Owners can take home leftover items, or leave them to be given to the GIC to sell in future fund-raising events.

Local members of international art exchange forum Create and Gift will run a booth handing out free art made by Gwangju residents and providing opportunities for people to make their own art.

Gwangju Freecycle is a new group that aims to reduce waste by reusing and recycling and promote a culture of giving.

The event runs Saturday at the Gwangju International Center’s new office in the Samho Center near Geumnamno4-ga Station from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
