Kim In-chul, the newly elected president of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, was inaugurated at the school’s main auditorium, “Barack Obama Hall,” on Tuesday.

Kim, formerly a professor of public administration at HUFS, was appointed the head of the school by the school board on Dec. 4. He received 65 percent of the votes by faculty members in the Nov. 22 election.

His four-year term will officially kick off on Saturday; he will be succeeding Park Chul.

A graduate of the HUFS department of public administration, the 56-year-old educator had previously served as a commissioner of the Board of Audit and Inspection and president of the Korean Association for Policy Studies. He also worked as vice president of HUFS.
