Vision K&C to open exclusive distribution store in China

Feb. 17, 2014 - 19:47 By Korea Herald
Vision K&C, a local trading company, said Monday that it formed a partnership with a Chinese distributor to open the first-ever store dedicated to selling South Korean goods in China.

The medium-size trader, which aligned itself with Tianyuan International Logistics, one of the top five logistics companies in China, said it will launch the four-story complex in Shandong province in June.

Under the deal reached with Tianyuan, the South Korean firm will be able to operate the store covering 9,900 square meters of space for 10 years.

“The store complex will cater to the high demand for South Korean products in China that has been fueled by the popularity of the ‘Korean Wave’ and act as a springboard to help products get more consumer exposure,” a corporate source said. It expects annual sales, including both retail and wholesale, to hit 300 billion won ($282 million).

The new store complex in Linyi City, in the southern part of the province, will sell South Korean cosmetics, fashion accessories, household electronics, mobiles phones, sports products, car parts and other goods.

It will also have various amenities such as a skin care shop and a medical clinic.

Vision K&C, based in Seoul, said it picked the city because of its geographical location and its position as a key distribution center for the northern part of China.

It said Linyi will be a starting point, with the company aiming to build more stores of the same kind. (Yonhap)
