McDonald’s Korea has made its popular “1955 burger” a regular menu item for fans of the classic, retro vibe of the meaty burgers, the company said this week.
The burger was inspired by the one served at the first McDonald’s restaurant that opened in Illinois, U.S., in 1955. The premium burger is made with 113 grams of Australian/New Zealand beef, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato, grilled onions and the smoky sauce.
The 1955 burger is priced at 5,300 won and the set menu that comes with a beverage and French fries is priced at 6,600 won. During the McLunch hours of 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., the price is discounted to 5,500 won.
A McDonald’s truck decorated in 1950s style will visit restaurants around the country until Feb. 16 to mark the launch of the 1955 burger. For more information about the truck, visit www.facebook.com/McDonaldsKorea.
