Electronic tongue can tell beers apart

Feb. 6, 2014 - 11:45 By KH디지털2

Researchers have created a robotic tongue that can tell the difference between beer varieties and the amount of alcohol content in each, according to NPR, a U.S.-based news organization.

The electronic tongue uses 21 electrodes, each responding to different chemical compounds, such as ammonium, sodium, nitrates or chlorides, with 82 percent accuracy.

Researchers said that food and beverage manufacturers could use the technology for quality control.

NPR mentioned that people were looking forward to having robot drinking buddies installed with electronic tongues.
