LG CNS gearing up for global expansion

Kim Dae-hoon, CEO of LG CNS, a Korean IT services provider, urged his executives and employees to zero in on expanding overseas by aggressively bidding for and securing projects this year.

Some 600 executives, team managers and employees from headquarters and overseas offices of Korea’s biggest system integrator gathered in Seoul last Friday with CEO Kim, who asked them to accelerate their global efforts and achieve success.

“Let us make new history this year,” Kim told his employees.

He added that 2014 would be the year LG CNS reaches an “inflection point” to further expand globally.

He called on the 600 men and women to “rearm” themselves with the capability to boost risk management, develop new business models and provide globally reliable IT solutions that can help sustain the company’s growth.

“It is time to bear fruit overseas this year as the company has been fully prepared in developing indigenous solutions,” the chief executive said.

The company and its overseas partners plan to pursue a 500-megawatt solar energy project worth 1.8 trillion won ($1.7 billion) in Russia by 2020. It also is waiting for results of a bid it submitted for an e-ticketing system project in Greece, according to LG CNS.
