Scottish rock band Travis is making its return to Korea, putting on its first solo concert in Seoul in five years with a live performance at the Olympic Hall in March.
Led by Fran Healy on vocals, Travis formed in the early 1990s in Glasgow, and made a name for itself as one of the most well-respected rock bands from the U.K.

Although Travis has always seemed to skirt away from the main spotlight, the rockers are still often credited for having influenced iconic British bands such as Coldplay and Keane.

“Travis were the band that invented Coldplay and lots of other bands,” stated Coldplay’s Chris Martin in an article for Britain’s Telegraph in 2007.

In more than 20 years since the band made its debut, the Scottish alternative rock band has released seven studio albums and been awarded as the best band twice at the BRIT Awards.

In 1997, Travis released its debut album “Good Feeling,” which was produced by five-time Grammy Award-winning producer Steve Lillywhite, who is best known for his work with U2. Two years later, the band released its follow-up studio album “The Man Who,” which went nine times platinum in the U.K. and topped the U.K. chart.

The band went on to release a number of successful albums including the critically acclaimed “Ode to J. Smith” in 2008. After years of performing without any new releases, the band had made a studio comeback last year with its first studio album in five years. Travis’ seventh album “Where You Stand” was unveiled in August and reached the No. 3 spot on the U.K. Albums Chart.

Travis will perform live at the Olympic Hall at the Seoul Olympic Park on March 25.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale starting Tuesday, with ticket prices ranging from 70,000 won to 120,000 won. For more information, visit www.interpark.com.
