변호인’ 관객수 상승과 함께 예매 취소사태가 벌어지고 있다는 소식이 전해졌다.
22일 한 온라인 커뮤니티에는 자신이 영화관 매니저로 근무 중이라며 21일 토요일과 22일 일요일 ‘변호인’ 티켓을 대량 예매한 고객이 상영 전 환불하는 건수가 10여건 이상에 달했다는 글을 게재했다.
실제 영화관에선 상영시간 20분 전까지 예매표를 환불받을 수 있다. 때문에 이런 대규모 예매 취소 사례는 예매테러의 한 방식으로 암암리에 이용되고 있는 것이 사실.
실제 지난 10월 24일 개봉한 인권영화 ‘어떤 시선’ 민용근 감독은 지난 11월 27일 자신의 페이스북을 통해 10월 21일 대학로 극장에서 관객들과 대화를 갖는 ‘시네마톡’ 특별상영이 2회 모두 매진됐으나, 4분의 1에 해당하는 좌석이 상영 직전 모두 취소됐다고 티켓테러 전말을 밝히기도. 이 같은 일은 10월 31일 부산에서도 발생했고, 3분의 1이 빈 상태로 상영 행사를 진행해야만 했다.
‘변호인’ 대규모 예매취소 티켓테러 논란에 홍보를 맡고 있는 퍼스트룩 측은 12월 23일 뉴스엔에 “배급사 측에서도 예매취소 사태에 대해 전달받은 것이 없다”며 “‘변호인’ 예매취소에 대한 실체는 확인되지 않았으며 현재 사태 파악 중이다”고 설명했다.
이어 “상영 20분 전까지는 예매 티켓을 취소할 수 있다는 규정이 있기 때문에 현재 상황에서는 티켓테러 사건이 벌어지더라도 막을 수 있는 방법이 없는 상황이다”고 덧붙였다.
노무현 부림사건 ‘변호인’ 예매취소 소식을 접한 누리꾼들은 “노무현 부림사건 ‘변호인’ 예매취소, 예상되는 커뮤니티가 있는데…” “노무현 부림사건 ‘변호인’ 예매취소, 하는 사람들 악질이네” “노무현 부림사건 ‘변호인’ 예매취소, 고의성이 다분한데 착출하면 안되나” 등의 반응을 보였다.
개봉 전부터 일베 평점테러 논란으로 홍역을 치렀던 ‘변호인’은 티켓테러 의혹에도 불구하고 누적관객수 175만2,162명을 돌파하며 박스오피스 1위를 기록 중이다.
변호인은 고 노무현 전 대통령의 일대기를 모티브로 부림사건을 다룬다. 부림사건은 전두환 정권이 사회과학 모임에 참여한 학생, 교사, 회사원 등 22명을 영장 없이 체포해 불법 감금하고 고문한 사건이다.

Film on former president rumored sabotaged
Rumors circulated online on Monday, alleging that haters of former President Roh Moo-hyun are sabotaging a movie inspired by his life.
A massive number of ticket reservations for “The Attorney,” the film based on the early days of Roh, have been cancelled just minutes before the movie started, said a person claiming to be working at a movie theater. A Korean theater regulation allows full refunds for moviegoers who cancel their tickets 20 minutes before the start of the movie.
The PR company for the movie said it is trying to verify the sabotage rumors.
“The Attorney” has been sitting at the top the domestic box office since its release on Thursday. On Saturday, it drew more than 540,000 viewers, setting a record for highest attendance on a single day in December.
The film is based on an incident called the “Burim Case,” which took place in the early 1980s in Busan when then-president Chun Doo-hwan’s iron-fisted regime sought to frame innocent students, teachers and office workers with treason charges. The Burim Case is widely interpreted as an attempt by the Chun regime to consolidate his dictatorial rule, which he established through a military coup in 1980.
The main character Song, played by Song Kang-ho, is based on Roh, who was a Busan-based human rights lawyer before he entered politics. The movie shows Song, once a materialistic person, opening his eyes to more important problems at hand and becoming involved with human rights issues.
