KCS unveils list of big tax dodgers

South Korea’s customs agency on Thursday revealed the names of individuals and corporate entities who owe the state a total of 159.6 billion won ($151.5 million) in unpaid taxes.

The list compiled by the Korea Customs Service included 78 individuals and corporate entities that have not paid tariffs and internal taxes that are more than 500 million won for at least a year.

Taxes overdue by individuals stood at 99.7 billion won, with Moon Se-young, the head of a local farming goods importer, topping the list at 13.9 billion won.

The figure for corporate entities was 59.9 billion won. Bohyun Motors, a car importer, led the pack by failing to pay 9.5 billion won in taxes, the KCS said. (Yonhap News)
