U.S.-based LG Electronics Inc.'s high-end smartphone, the LG G2, was included on a list of the top 10 electronic devices by a U.S. magazine, according to the magazine's website Monday.

Selected from among the thousands of electronics tested in the past year, the ten standout products were chosen because each pushes technology or performance to new heights, Consumer Reports said.

"The LG G2 has a stunning 5.2-inch display and a battery that doesn't know when to quit. The power and volume button cluster is on the back, under the camera, a design LG considers more ergonomic and intuitive than the usual top or side mount," said the world's largest independent product-testing organization.

The LG G2, the first device rolled out by LG Electronics after it dropped its Optimus brand, uses a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, and comes with 2 gigabytes of RAM.

The LG G2 has all of its buttons on the rear of the device, making this the first smartphone to be completely devoid of side buttons.

The smartphone with a Full HD display also presents compelling key features.

Along with the LG G2, Apple Inc's iPhone 5S was also among the top 10 electronics chosen by Consumer Reports.

Samsung Electronics Co.'s KN55S9C OLED TV was also included on the list. Consumer Reports said the 55-inch model is one of the first to use OLED technology, which combines the best attributes of plasma and LCD TVs but has none of their shortcomings.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX and Canon EOS Rebel SL1 were also among the top 10 picks of the year by Consumer Reports. (Yonhap News)
