Tag Heuer launches luxury phone

Luxury watch brand Tag Heuer launched a dual-screen phone with a 5.3 million won ($5,000) price tag on Tuesday.

The Merediist 2 model, thinner and lighter than the first, is optimized for business customers who travel frequently, as it sports a dual time display in the upper corner of the screen, a battery designed to last 28 days and dual SIM cards that allow easy transition of services when crossing borders.

The premium phones are available in 10 versions differing in materials used and price range. It has a 2.4-inch screen, 8 GB of storage, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with an added function to play MP3 and AAC files.

Tag Heuer first launched a luxury line of phones in 2008 priced at $3,000, featuring a sapphire screen and an exterior made of stainless steel.
