The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning said Monday it kicked off its online “creative economy town” (www.creativekorea.or.kr) where anyone can start out in business with their new ideas.
“The site is aimed at helping people who seek advice and information on how to flesh out their ideas and technologies into business,” a government official said.
People with business ideas can have diverse advice such as feasibility, intellectual property, trial products and marketing from mentors. The mentors include Virginia Tech professor Dennis Hong, KAIST professor Lee Min-hwa and CEO Lee Jung-soo of social translation platform provider Flitto.
As for selected ideas, applicants can receive consulting services from specialists, for instance, of patent analysis and technology commercialization.
Aside from carrying on business, people can simply share their ideas inspired by daily life or others they think would be good to develop. The gathered ideas will then be provided to the government and businesses as clues to solving social problems such as environmental or energy issues.
