South Korea’s figure skater Kim Yu-na topped the list of favored models for commercials, relegating other celebrities to far distances, a survey showed on Friday.
According to the survey conducted by the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corp., Kim was the celebrity whom local consumers liked best in commercials, with 8.7 percent showing support for the Olympic gold medalist.
The figure skater was also picked as the most favored advertisement model in 2009 and 2010.
Actor-singer-emcee Lee Seung-gi followed by pulling in 6.6 percent. Other celebrities favored by consumers were actress Kim Tae-hee with 5.9 percent of the votes and actor Hyun Bin with 5 percent.
The survey also aims to measure consumers’ preference of media channels as well as advertisements.
The survey has been conducted annually by KOBACO since 1999, and 6,000 consumers between the ages of 13 and 63 were interviewed. (Yonhap News)
