Park Jin-young to remarry next month

Sept. 17, 2013 - 16:40 By Korea Herald
Entertainment mogul Park Jin-young revealed Monday that he has gotten engaged to his girlfriend, who is nine years his junior.

Park, who is a singer and music producer as well as CEO of JYP Entertainment, made the announcement online through social media.

He said that his girlfriend, who is not a celebrity, was the woman who inspired him to write his hit love ballad single “You’re the One,” which was released last year.

“Although this woman is nine years younger than I and she just lives a normal life, there was an instant attraction when we first met,” he wrote.

“Although I am a celebrity figure and will continue to live my life publicly, I wish for her (his fiancee) to continue her normal lifestyle, which is why we are planning to have a quiet, private wedding ceremony with just family,” stated the 40-year-old entertainer.

The two are set to be married on Oct. 10.

Park was previously married to Seo Yoon-jung, his partner of nearly 16 years. However, after 10 years of marriage, the two announced their decision to go their separate ways in 2009. The divorce was finalized a year later, after a series of complicated legal battles over the financial settlement.
