Gwangju International Center will be running a GIC Culture Tour to Sunchang on Sept. 28.

The North Jeolla Province county is famous for its gochujang, and the tour will include a visit to the Sunchang Red Pepper Paste Village where participants can make their own, as well as get a chance to make other snacks such as tteok and popped rice.

Following that, the group will have a lunch of “dak baeksuk,” or boiled chicken, before heading to Gangcheonsan Mountain County Park, which has a fortress, temple and several waterfalls.

The trip costs 55,000 won for GIC members, 65,000 won for nonmembers and 40,000 won for preschoolers, and leaves from the center building at 9 a.m.

To join the trip, sign up via www.gic.or.kr by Sept. 15.
