LA다저스의 류현진 (26)이 28일 (현지시간) 미국 캘리포니아주 로스엔젤레스 다저스 스타디움에서 열린 로스엔젤레스 에인절스와의 경기에서 상대 타선을 무실점으로 막아 생애 첫 완봉승을 거두었다.

류현진은 이날 9회까지 완투하며 4사구 없이 2안타만 내주며 삼진을 7개를 잡아내는 완벽투를 펼치며 시즌 6승 (2패)째를 거뒀다.

다저스는 류현진의 역투와 루이스 크로즈의 2점 홈런, A.J. 엘리스의 적시타로 지역 라이벌 에인절스를 3대0으로 꺾었다.

이로서 류현진은 박찬호, 김선우에 이어 세번째로 메이저리그에서 완봉승을 거둔 한국인 투수가 되었다. ‘코리안 특급’ 박찬호는 혼자서 세번이나 완봉승을 거둔 바 있다.

오늘 맹활약으로 류현진의 시즌 평균자책점은 3.30에서 2.89로 낮아졌다.

투수로서 준수한 타격실력을 보이고 있는 류현진은 이날 경기에서도 시즌 두번째 2루타를 때려내며 3타수 1안타를 기록, 시즌 타율을 0.250로 끌어올렸다. (코리아헤럴드)

Ryu Hyun-jin pitches first-ever shutout victory against Angels

Los Angeles Dodgers’ Ryu Hun-jin pitched a two-hitter on Wednesday for his first career shutout to lead his team past local rival the Los Angeles Angels 3-0.

Ryu struck out seven with no walks to register his sixth win of the season. His ERA dropped to 2.89. The South Korean also helped out on the offensive end, hitting a double at the bottom of the third inning.

The Dodgers went ahead when Luis Cruz hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth and never relinquished the lead. The team scored again in the next inning thanks to a timely hit by A. J. Ellis.

The game marked a first complete-game shutout win for a Korean pitcher since 2005, when Kim Sun-Woo -- a then-member of the Colorado Rockies -- pitched a no-run win over the San Francisco Giants.
