A former staff member of legendary pop singer Michael Jackson said in a U.K. magazine on Sunday that the late singer “was not a pop hero, but a messed up, depraved junkie, who was manipulative, twisted and demonic.”
Adrian McManus, who previously worked for the late Jackson as a personal maid in the 1990s, told the U.K’s Sunday Mirror that he “actually died” twice before from drug overdoses in 1993.
“My heart sank as I thought he was dead. I called his name for several minutes. I feared that he was gone forever, but then he came to suddenly. He didn’t say a word, but burst into tears,” she told the British paper.
A few weeks after the incident, McManus said the security guard found Jackson lying near the swimming pool. She found a bag stuffed with drugs in Jackson’s mansion in the same year.
The 50-year-old pop star died in June 2009 from a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol by his personal physician Conrad Murray. The physician was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
