South Korean Park In-bee, the world's No. 1-ranked female golfer, earned her third LPGA Tour victory of 2013 in Texas on Monday, Korean time.
Park captured the North Texas LPGA Shootout at Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas, with a four-round total of 13-under 271. She shot a 4-under 67 in the final round for a one-stroke victory over Carlota Ciganda of Spain. Park will take home US$195,000 for her effort.
Ciganda held a two-shot lead over Park and Caroline Masson of Germany after three rounds, but the Spaniard managed only a 70 on the final day.
This was Park's third win in six starts this year. She won the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the season's first major tournament, earlier this month in California. In February, she also captured the Honda LPGA Thailand.
The 24-year-old will stay at No. 1 in the world rankings for the third week. Stacy Lewis, the American star chasing Park at No. 2, tied for seventh in Texas at seven-under.
Park also leads the LPGA Tour in money and in the points race for the Player of the Year honors.
The North Texas LPGA Shootout was the eighth LPGA tournament of this season. Park and Shin Ji-yai, another South Korean golfer, have together won four of the eight. (Yonhap News)
