BARCELONA (AP) ― Barcelona gave up a tying goal in the 90th minute, spoiling a great performance by Lionel Messi in a 2-2 draw with Athletic Bilbao. The outcome means the leaders must wait another week for a chance to clinch the Spanish league title.

With his team trailing 1-0, Messi came off the bench in the 59th minute to transform his club and in 10 minutes the visitors were in front.

Messi extended his record run of scoring in 20 straight league appearances when he dribbled through a pack of defenders to tie the game in the 67th minute.

He then set up Alexis Sanchez two minutes later.

England

With Luis Suarez beginning a 10-match ban for biting an opponent, Liverpool romped to a 6-0 victory Saturday in the Premier League for Newcastle’s worst home loss since 1925.

Liverpool was undeterred by incessant chants from the Newcastle fans: “Luis Suarez ― he bites who he wants.”
