새로운 연구에 따르면 테스토스테론을 분비하는 남성에게 배란기 여성은 더욱 강한 끌림을 경험한다고 미국의 한 언론사가 보도했다. 

이번 연구에서 연구진은 테스토스테론과 코티솔의 호르몬 수치 중 배란기 여성의 선호도는 어느 쪽과 관계가 있는 지를 파악하기 위해 진행되었다.

남성 참가자들은 자연스러운 몸 냄새 이외에 다른 향도 뿌리지 않았고 여성 참가자들은 그들의 티셔츠 향기를 맡고 좋은 순서대로 점수를 매겼다.

그 결과 월경 주기 중 배란기에 가장 가까운 여성이 높은 테스토스테론의 냄새를 가진 남성에게 가장 좋은 감정을 느꼈고, 그들의 코티솔 분비량에는 영향이 없었다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 

배란기와 여성의 남성 선호도는 많은 연구를 통해 관계가 있음을 입증했다. 예를 드러 월경주기 중 배란기를 맞은 여성의 경우 굵은 목소리 혹은 남성적인 얼굴 등 테스토스테론 호르몬으로 인한 강한 남성성이 표출되는 점을 선호했다. (코리아헤럴드)

Women pick a ‘hot guy’ by their smell: reports

Women who are in their fertile period are more likely to be attracted to the smells of men with high levels of testosterone, U.S. media reported.

A group of scientists asked women to rate the smell of 46 T-shirts in order to figure out their sexual scent preferences. Each shirt was worn by male participants who had not used any artificial scent, a U.S.-based science media LiveScience reported Wednesday.

Analyzing the given answers, researchers claimed that most women preferred the smell of T-shirts worn by men with strong testosterone levels. Women at their most fertile stage in particular were more inclined to prefer their smells.

A number of previous studies have confirmed that the preference of women in their fertile is closely associated with the masculine features of men. For instance, deep voices and manly faces have been identified as more attractive in this way.
