This year’s first-string lineup for the annual three-day Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival includes international headlining acts Fall Out Boy, Blood Red Shoes, Story of the Year, Skid Row and Peace as well as local acts YB, Deulgukhwa, Hot Potato, Peterpan Complex, Dickpunks, Soran, Yellow Monsters and Black Bag.

Fall Out Boy is a four-member American pop punk band that first formed in 2001 as an underground band. Although Fall Out Boy released its debut album “Take this to your Grave” in 2003, it was the release of the band’s follow-up album “From Under the Cork Tree” in 2005 that brought it mainstream fame. The double-platinum album features the hit punk rock singles “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” and “Dance, Dance.”

Two years later the group released its third album “Infinity on High,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 music chart. In 2008 the members released their fourth album “Folie Deux,” a year before announcing they would be taking an indefinite hiatus. And after nearly three years apart, the band mates of Fall Out Boy announced that they would be reuniting and returning to the music scene and unveiled the new album “Save Rock and Roll,” which was released Tuesday.

Another act showcasing its skills at the annual rock fest is the English alternative rock duo Blood Red Shoes. Steven Ansell and Laura-Mary Carter formed the band in 2005 after their previous bands had broken up and together, with their garage punk rock sound, the duo tries to distance themselves from the mainstream music scenes. So far the two have released three albums: “Box of Secrets,” “Fire Like This” and “In Time To Voices,” which was released last year in July.

The 2013 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival will be held from Aug. 2-4. Tickets for the festival will go on sale starting April 23 and cost from 77,000 won to 165,000 won.
