K-pop star Kim Jun-su was named top Korean male singer at an award ceremony in China, his agency said Sunday.
“Kim Jun-su won the best Korean male singer award in the 1st Yinyue V-Chart Awards with his single ‘Uncommitted,’” C-Jes Entertainment said. The inaugural awards ceremony, held in Beijing, was hosted by Yinyue Tai, one of China’s largest music websites.
The category was decided by each singer’s performance on Yinyue Tai’s V-chart last year and the results of a popular vote by fans from around the world.
The 26-year-old singer is a member of a popular K-pop trio JYJ and a rising musical star. Last year, Kim won the best male actor award in the Korea Musical Awards with his performance in “Elisabeth.”
