“그겨울”의 결말은 아름다웠다.

오수(조인성 분)와 오영(송혜교 분)의 찬란한 벚꽃 아래서의 입맞춤은 시청자들의 마음을 녹여버리기에 충분했다.

항상 아슬아슬했던 그들의 사랑엔 장애물도 많았다. 전문 도박꾼인 오수는 47억의 빚을 갚기 위해 눈이 보이지 않는 오영에게 친 오빠의 탈을 쓰고 접근하지만, 점차 그녀에게 사랑을 느끼게 되며, 오영 역시 닫혀있던 마음을 점차 열게 된다. “남매”의 알콩 달콩한 모습을 보며 즐거운 것도 잠시, 오수의 정체는 곧 밝혀지고 오영은 뇌종양 진단을 받게 된다.

행복할 수 없을 것만 같은 이들의 사랑은 1년 후 이루어진다. 눈 수술을 받은 오영은 시력을 일부 회복하며, 오수와 눈을 맞출 수 있게 된다. 오영의 단골 카페에서 이뤄진 이 둘의 재회는 서로의 변함 없는 사랑을 확인 할 수 있게 했다.

“환상적인 벚꽃엔딩,”이라는 찬사를 받은 “그겨울”은 16회를 마지막으로 그 화려한 막을 내렸으며, 후속 드라마는 신하균과 이민정 주연의 “내 연애의 모든 것”으로 4일부터 방송 된다.

Happy ending for ’That Winter, the Wind Blows’

SBS TV drama “That Winter, the Wind Blows” ended its run on Wednesday with a happy ending, as requested by fans, for its title characters Oh Soo (Zo In-sung) and Oh Young (Song Hye-kyo), boosting the viewer rating to a record 15.8 percent.

The last scene involves a kiss under a cherry blossom tree between the two high-profile actors, who were reunited after a year of separation. The two characters’ storylines wrapped up nicely, with the two meeting after a year at the coffee shop where Oh Soo worked and talking as though they did not know each other.

Throughout the 16 episodes, viewers asked the production team not to close the series with a sad ending, since the couple’s love was always rocky and shaky. 

The romantic scene against the bursting bloom of cherry blossom pleased many Korean viewers, offering a rare, breathtaking visual.

“My Romance,” featuring Shin Ha-gyun and Lee Min-jung, will kick off on Thursday as a follow-up in the lucrative Wednesday-Thursday TV drama time slot.
