재규어의 수석디자이너이자 세계적인 자동차 디자이너인 이안칼럼이 다음주에 열리는 서울모터쇼 참석을 위해 방한한다.

그는 28일 언론 프리뷰에서 직접 재규어의 신형 스포츠카 F-Type과 XJ Ultimate 세단을 소개할 예정이고 이날 오후에는 특별세션을 통해 재규어의 디자인철학을 설명하는 시간을 갖는다.

특별한 외국VIP의 방문이 예정돼있지 않은 가운데 이안칼럼은 올해 서울모터쇼에서 가장 주목받는 인물들 중 한명이 될 예정이다.

그는 1999년 재규어의 디자인총괄이 되었고 이후 플래그쉽 XJ의 성공적인 리뉴얼과 새로운 스포츠세단 XF의 출시를 이끈바 있다. 특히 올 여름 전세계 출시를 앞두고 있는 로드스터 F-Type은 그의 야심작이다.

영국의 유력 자동차전문잡지 탑기어는 작년 이안칼럼을 "맨오브더이어"로 선정한바 있다.

한편 랜드로버의 디자인스튜디오 디렉터 데이비드 새딩턴 역시 이날 방한해 올뉴레인지로버 등 랜드로버 차량의 디자인 컨셉을 직접 소개할 예정이다.

Jaguar’s Ian Collum to visit Seoul next week


Jaguar’s design chief Ian Collum will make his first visit to Korea next week to unveil the much-anticipated two-seat sports car F-Type during the Seoul Motor Show, Jaguar Land Rover Korea said Friday.

The top car designer, who will be accompanied by Land Rover’s design studio director David Saddington, plans to hold a special design session to discuss the British carmaker’s design philosophy at the motor show’s media preview on March 28.

Collum took office as the design chief for Jaguar in 1999 and has been design inspiration for the luxury brand’s flagship models such as the XJ sedan and the sportier XF. In 2012, U.K.’s Top Gear magazine named him the Man of the Year.
