Daemyung Resort opened a five-star hotel in Hallyu World, a theme park for Korean cultural content currently under development in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, on Wednesday.
The resort company unveiled the second property of the luxury hotel brand MVL Hotel on Monday, following the opening of the first MVL Hotel in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, last year.
“MVL Hotel Kintex is the first five-star hotel in Ilsan. We expect the hotel will be an ideal place for MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions) travelers to the Korea International Exhibition Center to stay. We will strive to offer the best accommodation and dining services to all guests,” said Cho Hyun-chul, CEO of Daemyung Leisure Industry.

“We will also continue our efforts to create various activities with the neighboring convention and culture facilities such as Kintex and the entertainment and shopping complex One Mount,” he added.
The hotel is located in the center of Hallyu World, where a K-Pop arena and other facilities dedicated to hallyu performances will be built, and adjacent to the Kintex, Korea’s largest MICE facility.
“We are targeting MICE travelers who come to attend conventions and meetings. The hotel is also designed to meet the different needs of both local and foreign customers,” said Brian Song, general manager of MVL Hotel Kintex, at a press conference on Monday.

The 20-story hotel has 377 guest rooms, including 34 suites. There are seven room types, which range from standard rooms (30.2-36.8 square meters) to seven different kinds of suites (46.2-115.8 square meters), including junior, executive, ambassador, Korean and presidential suites.
The guest rooms offer a spacious living area for travelers with large luggage. The standard rooms feature showers minus bathtubs to create more space in the living area while suites feature bathtubs.
The Korean suite offers a chance for guests to get the full taste of Korean living culture in the room installed with ondol, and decorated with traditional Korean dcor items.
The presidential suite comes with an extra room with two single beds to serve the needs of high-ranking officials traveling with a team of assistants and aides.
The building is also designed to express Korean beauty, highlighted in designs that feature reinterpretations of traditional house and clothing designs.
The interior of the hotel is designed to create a comfortable and luxurious yet modern ambience, using natural materials such as a tree as a highlight in the lobby.
The hotel also offers a new level of dining experience with a lineup of award-winning star chefs.
The Cucina M, located on the second floor, features an open kitchen and 250 seats with two large private rooms.
It boasts a live dim sum kitchen and a grill bar that serves various kinds of dim sum and grilled steaks, as well as a diverse selection of food from Western to Japanese various Asian foods.
“We will present different promotions and invite Michelin-star chefs to offer a premium dining experience to our guests,” said Song.
The Chinese restaurant offers four main regional Chinese cuisines including Cantonese food with more than 150 kinds of dim sum on the menu.
The Lobby Lounge Il Lago is a place for casual meetings and gatherings with a panoramic view of the lake park. The bakery Il Lago offers organic bread, as well as various kinds of pastries and chocolates, made by the award-winning pastry chef who created and advised on the MBC drama “My Lovely Sam-soon,” a romantic comedy about a woman pastry chef.
Located in the heart of the business center in northern Gyeonggi Province, the hotel provides ballrooms for various events such as corporate meetings, conferences and seminars, as well as weddings, banquets and other social events.
The Grand Ballroom, capable of accommodating up to 680 people, is designed to hold large conferences and weddings. The Iris room is a mid-size hall that can accommodate up to 330 people. Three other rooms can cater to small meetings with 30 seats.
The fitness center, swimming pool and sauna on the third floor offer comfort and relaxation to hotel guests.
The fitness center with state-of-the-art workout facilities offers systematic workout programs with complimentary gym clothes and water bottles. The outdoor swimming pool, open during the summer months, provides sun beds and features an outdoor bar where guests can buy drinks and snacks.
Starting with the Seoul Motor Show from March 29 to April 7, the hotel expects more people coming to attend conventions at Kintex. Teams from international motor companies such as Honda, Nissan and Mercedes-Benz are staying at the hotel, according to Song.
To celebrate the hotel opening, MVT Hotel Kintex is holding a lucky draw event for guests, to give away a one-night stay, restaurant coupons and more.
