March 10, 2013 - 21:09 By Korea Herald
Corporate top guns touted the largest paychecks in the country, according to figures from the Korea Federation of Savings Banks on Saturday.

CEOs’ annual salaries averaged 109 million won, followed by lawmakers, who were paid an average 106 million won. They were followed by maritime pilots whose annual paychecks were around 105 million won. Maritime pilots have the job of guiding ships safely to shore.

Among doctors, plastic surgeons appeared to have the highest-paying jobs, with an annual salary of around 90 million won, followed by airplane pilots and lawyers.

The figures were based on a survey conducted by the Korea Employment Information Service on 26,181 employees in 759 jobs across the nation, between 2010 and 2011, the savings banks’ federation said.
