Elderly South Korean women who were mobilized as sex slaves for the Japanese military during World War II plan filed a complaint against a Japanese rock band for calling sex slaves prostitutes, officials said Monday.

Three women aged 85, 87 and 92 filed the complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office on Monday, according to an official at the House of Sharing, a shelter for former sex slaves.

The anti-South Korean rock group created a Youtube video and a CD with songs calling former sex slaves prostitutes and calling for their death. Translated lyrics of the songs along with the video and the CD were delivered to the shelter last week.

The video had pictures of extremists ripping the Korean flag at a protest against South Korea and signing songs that express anti-Korean sentiments.

“I won’t die like what the lyrics say. I have been waiting for the Japanese government to ask for forgiveness,” said 90-year-old Park Ok-sun.

Hundreds of thousands of Korean women were forced to be sex slaves, called “comfort women,” during Japan’s World War II when Korea was a colony of Japan.

Japan, however, has been accused of never sincerely apologizing to the former sex slaves and rejected Seoul’s demand for talks on compensation for the victims.

 김순옥(91)•김군자(87)•이옥선(85) 할머니 등 나눔의 집에 거주하는 일본군 위안부 피해자 8명은 허위 사실에 의한 명예 훼손, 정보통신망이용촉진 및 정보보호에 관한 법률 위반 등 혐의로 일본 록밴드 ‘櫻亂舞流’의 처벌을 요구하는 고소장을 4일 오후 서울중앙지검에 제출했다.

일본 극우 국수주의 록밴드로 알려진 피고소인들은 지난달 28일 나눔의 집에 보낸 노래가 담긴 CD와 노랫말을 한국어로 번역한 용지를 보냈다.

박옥선(90) 할머니도 “노래 가사처럼 그냥 죽지 않겠다”며 “일본의 사죄를 받으려고 지금까지 살고 있는데 이런다고 우리가 죽겠느냐”고 분노했다.

2차 세계전쟁 당시 일본의 식민지였던 한국에서 수많은 여성들이 위안부 피해자로 끌려갔었다.

하지만 일본은 한국의 계속되는 사과요청에도 불구하고 위안부 피해 할머니들에게 사죄하고 있지 않고 있다. (코리아헤럴드)
